Flooding up-date

All year round “Municipally maintained” roads in the Township of Ryerson are now open. Please drive with caution as there are still areas prone to washouts. Half loads are still in effect. Public Works is planning to resume the normal maintenance schedule as soon as possible.

Properties that have been flooded are at risk of possible water contamination.  Residents in flooded areas with wells and septic systems that are under water or have been under water, are advised not to use their systems for drinking, bathing, and/or to wash laundry or dishes.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit advises that well water is to be tested as soon as possible.  Please refer to the information below from the Health Unit for information on water testing.

At this time the Tri-R Landfill site is not accepting flood related waste, due to possible contamination and landfill capacity.  However, the Tri-R municipalities (Burks Falls, Armour and Ryerson) are developing a plan to assist affected residents with waste disposal.  More information regarding waste disposal with be forthcoming.
