Midlothian Road remains CLOSED from the intersection of Spring Hill Rd & Midlothian Rd to the intersection of Sieber Rd and Midlothian due to rising water-levels and water-covered roadway.

Stoney Road at the Ryerson/Armour Boundary (civic #370) REOPENED.

Stoney Road at the Ryerson/Armour Boundary (civic #370) will be closed for a culvert replacement.

Midlothian Road is now CLOSED from the intersection of Spring Hill Rd & Midlothian Rd to the intersection of Sieber Rd and Midlothian due to rising water-levels and water-covered roadway.

-Peggs Mountain Road is still CLOSED from the Royston and Peggs Mountain intersection up to 600 m East of civic # 864 at this time. With the water continuing to rise and the anticipated precipitation for Saturday, April 18, 2026 this road will remain closed for the duration of the weekend.

Hill and Gully Road at civic #2 & #51 (East Road Bridge) remains CLOSED at this time. Please take alternate routes.

UPDATE - April 16, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. 

-Peggs Mountain Road from the Royston and Peggs Mountain intersection up to 600m East of civic #864 - CLOSED until further notice. Do not attempt to drive on water-covered roadways as road surfaces may be compromised underneath. 

-Hill and Gully Road at civic #2 & #51 - REMAINS CLOSED

-Stoney Rd at the Armour/Ryerson border, closest civic #370 & Rosskopf Rd have both been reopened.

ROADS UPDATE - April 15, 2026 at 8:30 a.m.

Rosskopf currently remains open but will be closed within the next hour for a culvert replacement.

The following roads will remain closed until water levels subside and our roads crew can begin repairs.

NOTICE - Significant Weather Event Declaration Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 12:45 p.m. – Road Conditions

A Significant Weather Event has been declared in accordance with Section 16.9 of Ontario Regulation 239/02 due to the significant rainfall which has resulted in flooding and road washouts. There remains a continued risk of additional road flooding.

The following roads are currently closed and are impassable:

-Royston Extension at civic #2013

-Rosskopf Road at civic #311

As water levels continue to rise throughout the Township, all travel should be undertaken with caution, and avoid driving through standing water. If any hazards or risks are identified, please contact Fred Schmeltz, Roads Supervisor immediately at (705) 783-0064.
